Swing and Ballroom Dancing (with a good mix of Latin and Tango)

Swing and Ballroom at the Silver Spur Every Saturday evening (with rare exceptions) from 6 to 8:30, the University of Alaska Good Time Swing Dance Club hosts a combination swing and ballroom (and latin) dance at the Silver Spur nightclub. The Spur has a nice big dance floor. Only adults over 21 can attend, sorry kids!

Social Dances at the Ballroom Dance Club of Fairbanks
The Ballroom Dance Club of Fairbanks holds bimonthly social dances (often with a dance lesson before hand) at the great little dance hall at Pioneer Park. Dancers of all ages and skill levels have a great time dancing to good Swing and Ballroom dance music (also lots of latin!) and socializing in this smoke-and-alcohol-free atmosphere.

Dance lessons are scheduled almost every weeknight (except in the summer) and on Saturday afternoons you can come to a free dance practice at the dance hall!

Swing Dance at the Howling Dog
The Fartherest North Rock'n Roll and Blues Saloon in North America is right here in Fox Alaska!

Wednesday is Blues Jam Night at the legendary Howling Dog Saloon in beautiful Fox, Alaska all summer long. It's a great swing dance night at the Dawg with plenty of swingin' tunes by the Mighty Untouchables. Their national class blues and rock'n roll is supplemented by recorded swinging blues played during the band's breaks.

It is a great place to practice your West Coast, East Coast and 4-count Swing dancing in Fairbanks. There always seem to be some cha-cha and an occasional waltz too! Not a big crowd on Wednesday's until late in the evening.

You can also get in a lot of rock 'n roll dancing in Fairbanks at the Howling dog (which is technically in Fox... but that's okay).
